Day 1 : Arrival in Banjarmasin Airport – Hotel – Canal Tour ( D )

dayak balianUpon your arrival at Syamsuddinnor airport, meeting service with your guide/assistance who will escort you to hotel in Banjarmasin, arriving at the hotel then check in and free program, at 05.00 pm joing for canal tour to see the local people activities at the bank side of Kelayan River. Back to hotel and at 07.30 pm having dinner at Local restaurant. Back to hotel for overnight.

Day 2 : Hotel – Borneo Floating Market – Hotel – Upau Village – Local House (B,L,D)

Early in the morning you will pick up from the hotel and visit Borneo floating market in Kuin River, then get the Kelotok for transportation to the floating market. You will take the trip along 40 minutes to reach its market area. Along the trip you will see the activities of the people in the morning, typical houses surrounding the river bank. In the Borneo Floating market you will see all the buyer and seller meet in the Kuin river estuary for market transaction on the boat. This market already exists since hundred years ago. After that return to the hotel for having breakfast. Check out from the hotel and continue our trip to Upau Village. It will take around 6 hours by private car to get to the village. Direct transfer to the local house where you will stay and overnight with Dayak Deah tribe.

 

Day 3 : Local House – Kinarum River – Dance ceremony – Local House (B,L,D)
floatingmarketEarly morning after breakfast you will transfer by car to Kinarum River for swimming. This river really nice for bathing and you will see the beautiful rapid and you are also could swim around it. The water come from the Meratus range, it is really clean. Back to the Village to see traditional Dayak Dance ceremony. Here you will see the unique and mystical Dayak Deah dance performance. The dance presented by village lady dancers and one man called Balian (shaman) climbs thorny rattan tree with his supernatural power. The man climbs up with bare hand and foot. In the end of the performance the man has no hurt on his body at all with the sharp thorns have broken. This dance is accompanied by traditional music instrument in very dynamic rhythm of Borneo Dayak tribe. Back to the local house for overnight.

Day 4 : Local House – Local School – Rubber Plantation – Balian Ceremony - Local House (B, L, D)

After breakfast you will visit the local school around the village to see and join their activities. You could also teach English to the students there for an hour a half. Continue the tour to the rubber plantation. Here you will see how the local people get the rubber as their main commodities to get money. You are also allowed to see all the process before they could sell the rubber to the market. Back to Upau village to see Balian Ceremony. Here you will see how the Borneo Dayak make a traditional treatment to the sick people. This ceremony is accompanied by the traditional music instrument in very dynamic rhythm. Dinner and overnight at local house.

Day 5 : Local House – Banjarmasin – Hotel (B, L, D)

Early morning after breakfast you will transfer back to Banjarmasin and check in into the hotel. Lunch will be served on route. In the afternoon continue your tour for canal tour in Kelayan River to see the local people activities from your boat along the river side. Dinner will be provided at the hotel.

Day 6 : Hotel – Next Destination (B)
Early morning at 05.30am, Boating down by traditional boat “Kelotok” to visit the floating market in Barito River. Here you will see the transaction process that done between seller and buyer on the little canoe or boat. Back to the hotel for breakfast, free at your leisure until the time for transferring you to Airport for your next destination.
