Day 01: Balikpapan, Mahakam River (D)
Upon arrival at Balikpapan airport, transfer to Loa Janan, to board houseboat for exciting adventure on Mahakam river. Meals provided and overnight on houseboat.
Day 02: Muara Muntai, Mancong, Tanjung Isuy, Melak (BLD)
Short sight seeing at Muara Muntai Wooden village, then crossing Jempang Lake by motor canoe to Mancong. During the cruise you could see Rain forest and wildlife at Ohong creek like monkey’s and birds, Upon arrival at Mancong, welcomed with a traditional ceremony by the Dayaq Benuaq, one of the Oldest Dayak Longhouse of East Kalimantan can be found here, Late afternoon by motor canoe to Houseboat for cruise upstream Mahakam River to Melak, dinner and overnight at Houseboat.
Day 03: Melak, Eheng, Ombau Asa, Kersik Luway, Downstream (BLD)
Arrive in Melak then drive to Eheng by Jeep / Minibus passing beautiful highland to reach the old longhouse of Dayak Tunjung. Afterwards visit Kersik Luway and explore the forest, if lucky the famous black orchid can be seen. Afternoon to Ombau Asa waterfall, an exciting place for swimming. Return to houseboat for downstream Mahakam River, Dinner and overnight at Houseboat.
Day 04: Tenggarong, Balikpapan (BLD)
Arrive at Tenggarong, visiting the former palace of Sultan Kutai Kertanegara. Where you will see the Sultan's impressive collection of heirlooms, ceramics, Dayak's art and culture items. Afterwards by car to Balikpapan Hotel for overnight.
Day 05: Balikpapan - Banjarmasin Airport – Upau Village (B,L,D)
After breakfast free at leisure, till departure time for your flight to Banjarmasin. On arrival in Banjarmasin Airport meeting service with your local guide. Then direct transfer to Upau Village. It will take around 6 hours by private car to get to the village. Direct transfer to the local house where you will stay and overnight with Dayak Deah tribe. Lunch will provided en rute Dinner at local house.
Day 06: Local House – Kinarum River – Dance ceremony – Local House (B,L,D)
Early morning after breakfast you will transfer by car to Kinarum River for swimming. This river really nice for bathing and you will see the beautiful rapid and you are also could swim around it. The water come from the Meratus range, it is really clean. Back to the Village to see the traditional Dayak Dance ceremony. Here you will see the unique and mystical Dayak Deah dance performance. The dance presented by village lady dancers and one man called Balian (shaman) climbs up the thorny rattan tree with his supernatural power. The man climbs up with bare hand and foot. In the end of the performance the man has no hurt on his body at all with the sharp thorns have broken. This dance is accompanied by traditional music instrument in very dynamic rhythm of Borneo Dayak tribe. Back to the local house for overnight.
Day 07: Local House – Local School – Rubber Plantation – Water Buffalo – Amandit Lodge (B, L, D)
After breakfast you will visit the local school around the village and join their activities. You could also teach English to the students there for an hour a half. We hope from your visit the student will be motivated to learn the language. Continue the tour to the rubber plantation. Here you will see how the local Dayak get the rubber as their main commodities to get money. Direct transfer to Kandangan district to see the Water Buffalo return back to their cowshed in the late afternoon. Return back to Danau Panggang village then direct transfer to Kandangan then continue the trip to Loksado. Lunch and Dinner in the local restaurant, overnight in Amandit Lodge.
Day 08: Loksado Bamboo Rafting – Banjarmasin (B,L, D)
After breakfast sort trekking to see the Dayak village. Then continue the trip for your Bamboo Rafting. Here you will raft down the stream about 3-4 hours by the rafting. On the way down the river you will see beautifull scenery and you will accompany by a Dayak people who will drive the raft for you. They use one bamboo pole
on their hand to drive it. They will take you through the rapids and ride down to Muara Tanuhi. On arrival in Muara Tanuhi direct transfer to the car and ride back to Banjarmasin. (B,L,D)
Day 09: Hotel - Floating Market – Samsudinoor Airport – Pangkalan Bun Airport – Kumai – Proboscis Monkey Tour (B,L,D)
Early morning at 5 AM direct transfer to the boat and boating up Martapura river to reach Lokbaintan floating market. Here you could see the seller and buyer trancaction between their boat, sometimes they also still do barter on this market. At 7.30 return back to the hotel for your breakfast. After breakfast direct transfer to Samsudinoor Airport to catch up your flight to Pangkalan Bun for your Orangutan exploration. On arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, meeting service with your local guide then transfer you to Kumai. Onboard, crossing the Kumai River approximately 15 minutes to the main river Seikonyer. Riding up about 2 hours to reach the National Park. Lunch will be served by our own cook. At 16.30, continue our tour to explore Proboscis monkeys. Dinner and overnight on the boat.
Day 10: Houseboat - Camp Leaky – Houseboat (B,L,D)
After breakfast, proceed upstream to Camp Leaky area, it will pass the black river. When arrive in camp Leaky, hiking up to see more wildlife such as Orangutans, Gibbons, wild pigs, birds etc. Back to the boat for lunch and at 14.00 will follow the feeding program. Feeders will carry banana and feed the orangutan on the feeding platform. At 16.00, back to the boat for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Houseboat - Pondok Tangguy – Pasalat Reforestation - Tanjung Harapan Camp - Tanjung Harapan Village – Nipa Palm Area. (B,L, D)
After breakfast, boating down the river to the second station called Pondok Tangguy, here the ranger will feed the Orangutan at 09.00 and it will take about 2 hours by boat from Camp Leakey. Enjoying the situation till 10.00, after feeding continue the trip and boating down to Pasalat Camp for your Carbon Offsetting program. Here you will grow one tree per person as a contribution for slow down the climate change. This is also as a payment for the carbon you had paid from the airline ticket and all the transportation you had used to get here. After you grow the tree, then going back to the boat and boating down direct to Tanjung Harapan Camp for visiting the last orangutan feeding. Here they feed the orangutan at 15.00 in the Afternoon. Enjoy the situation till 16.00 pm. Back to the camp and if it is still enough time crossing to Tanjung Harapan village to see the Malayan settlement activities in the Afternoon. Back to the boat and boating down directly to Nipa Palm area to see thousand of firefly. Lunch will be served en-route by our own cook on board. Dinner and overnight on boat.
Day 12: Houseboat – Kumai – Airport (B)
After breakfast, boating down to Kumai then transfer to Pangkalan bun Airport for your next destination.
